Sean Murphy, a co-president of Coastal Construction, sold his Coral Gables mansion for $7.34 million.
Conrad von Peterffy, owner of Schenker Storen, a Swiss maker of blinds, awnings and shutters, is the buyer, sources said. Von Peterffy and his wife Candace recently listed their Chicago mansion for just under $13 million, marking the third-highest asking price for a home in the Windy City.
Murphy and his wife Jennifer sold the seven-bedroom, 8,458-square-foot home at 5490 Hammock Drive, near Matheson Hammock Park. Property records show they paid $1.25 million for the acre lot in 2011 and build the two-story, mid-century modern house two years later.
Murphy oversees planning and management of all of Coastal’s projects. The company, one of South Florida’s biggest general contractors, worked on developments like the St. Regis Bal Harbour and Mansions at Acqualina.
The home features marble and wood floors, a ground-floor master suite, a living room with a fireplace, an outdoor living room, a pool and deck and smart home amenities.
Douglas Elliman’s Hilda Jacobson, Barbara Estela and Brett Harris represented the Murphys. Audrey Ross of Compass represented the buyer.
The home hit the market in February for just under $9 million, according to Realtor.com.
In March, developer Andy Ansin, son of media billionaire Edmund Ansin, sold the spec home at 4995 Hammock Lake Drive, which he co-developed with Jomed Construction, for $7.9 million.
